Chromebook Extensions and FortiNet Patches

Chromebook Extended Service

by Artie Kaye

Google has promised their products released after 2021 will have continued support until the early 2030’s.  Previously the updates would only last five years from the release of the model.  The automatic updates the devices make every month are intended to prolong the life of the item and keep it more secure.  For units made before 2021, update options will be available.  Even without them, the company believes that built in security features will help keep the devices safe.  Without updates however, vulnerabilities which are not major are less likely to be addressed.
