TeamViewer Patches Privilege Escalation Vulnerability in Windows Clients
by Justin Erickson
TeamViewer has released a security update to fix a privilege escalation vulnerability, CVE-2025-0065, affecting its Windows clients. The flaw could allow attackers with local access to escalate their privileges, gaining higher-level system access. Although there is no evidence showing it is being actively exploited, users are strongly urged to update their TeamViewer installations to the latest version – as well as reviewing access control policies to decrease the risk of these types of attacks.
