Hackers Exploit Google Search Ads to Hijack Google Ads Accounts
by Justin Erickson
Cybercriminals are using malicious Google search ads to steal login credentials and take over Google Ads accounts. The attackers place fraudulent ads that mimic legitimate services, tricking users into entering their account details on phishing sites. Once the credentials are compromised, the hackers gain access to Google Ads accounts, enabling them to manipulate ad campaigns or redirect funds. Google is aware of the issue and has been actively suspending malicious ads and accounts. Those with Google Ads accounts are advised to verify links before clicking and implementing multi-factor authentication to stay secure.
