Google Expands to AI Scam Protection

by Justin Erickson

Google is rolling out its enhanced AI-based scam detection feature to Android devices. The system is designed to identify and flag suspicious messages in real time, reducing the likelihood of users falling victim to phishing or other scam attempts. This feature is off by default and when enabled, will not be used in texts or calls with saved phone numbers in the user’s contacts. Although details on the specific models supported may vary, Google’s goal is to provide robust spam and scam defenses across its mobile ecosystem.
