The Cicada3301 ransomware gang – created in June 2024 – has developed new cross-platform capabilities, allowing them to target both Windows and Linux environments. Cybersecurity experts from Group-IB revealed that the group is using advanced evasion techniques to bypass detection and make their ransomware attacks harder to prevent. These developments highlight an evolving threat that poses significant risks to various sectors. Organizations are urged to strengthen their security measures and remain vigilant for emerging threats, as 30 companies have already been breached.
