Dell’s Data breach and a Chrome Zero-Day

A breach affecting 49 million users was announced by the company. They have stated that the information which was exfiltrated were names, physical address, and Dell devices related to the account. Last month a collection of pilfered data purportedly from Dell was up for sale on the dark web; 49 million users’ data. This data claimed to have email addresses as well as password hashes. As of writing it is not known if these are the same data.

Chrome Zero-Day

Google has released a patch for Chrome fixing a zero-day that’s actively been used in the wild. The vulnerability can allow an exploiter to gain access to system information. Chrome browser users, including variants of the browser such as Brave, Vivaldi, Edge, etc. are encouraged to update when you are next able to.
