After their adoption of mandatory 2FA earlier this year, GitHub continues toward their goal to be more secure. Passkeys will allow users to securely bypass passwords with mobile devices serving as the verification instead, which is considered more secure. While the security function has been available as a beta since July, it is now officially implemented.
