A vulnerability has been found in a popular plugin for WordPress. Ultimate Member allows users to create profiles and has tools for account management. The flaw in the plugin could allow an attacker to grant themselves administrator access, effectively giving them full control over the website. As of this writing, the makers of the plugin have released multiple patches to address this security hole, and have a list of suggested actions to take, linked below.

Decryption Software For Akira Released

Earlier in 2023, the Akira ransomware was detected. It functions by encrypting files and then attempting to extort money from the target. The malware functions on both Windows and Linux. Avast has cracked the code and has released a free tool to decrypt affected data. Please read the full instructions before using decryption tools, or contact your support team for assistance.
