Messaging Apps Vector for Malware
by Artie Kaye
Discord and Telegram are popular messaging applications available for PC and phone. While not primarily aimed at businesses, some use them for the ease of communication which allows users to chat and share files easily. This functionality is also what has made them targets for malware use and distribution. Malicious users have been able to store stolen data, distribute malware, and gain access to information stored in browser settings, such as passwords and autofill. Until the security of these programs is improved, it is not recommended to use them for business communications.
